Monday’s Musings #263 & April Daybook

Today is April 30th.

The weather this past weekend brought us snow. Three inches at least. Temps dropped from mid 70’s to the 30’s. Burrrrr. We were trying to decide if it was December or April. But this next week it will return to warmer weather and more sun.

We are preparing for a family road trip. What’s so cool about this trip is our destination is all new to us. We are meeting up with some sweet friends and spending precious time with them. One of the things we are doing is attending a pro-team baseball game! We love baseball in our family so this is one of the best things we’re doing with our friends. We are also staying at our first Air B&B along the way. Have you stayed at one before? How was your experience?

Physically, I am still working through that 30 day fitness challenge on my phone. I am a little over halfway through it and it has gotten more challenging. However, I like the push to work harder and get stronger. I decided to add in the abs and arms workouts as well.

Creatively, I have been making pocket letters. My sister got me into this and I am loving the creative part of it. So, what is a pocket letter you ask? Go HERE to find out more. I just sent off a Disney in Paris pocket letter and am currently working on a Jane Austen pocket letter. I can’t wait to receive mine!

I am reading “Peter Pan” by J.M. Barrie and “The Imitation of Christ” by Thomas a Kempis. They are my audio books while I walk in the mornings. I listen to one then switch to the other. What are you reading?

Last weekend, my husband and I attended a wedding for one of our boys from little league baseball. We coached him for 6 years and became close to his family in the process. Truly, it blew my mind that he was getting married. Where had that young boy gone? It made me realize how much I missed those days of coaching little league. I miss watching my son play. He loved to play and still loves baseball to this day. It is amazing how time does not consider my desires for it to slow down or even stop for a moment. It just keeps on moving.

This week we will be busy getting things in order for our road trip as well as preparing the house for my mom to stay. We are also going with our church community group to serve a meal on Wednesday to a local residence that houses patients getting medical treatments outside their hometown. It will be a busy time for us and for me. With that said, I will be taking advantage of these next few weeks to enjoy my family and not blog. The link up will return on May 22nd so mark your calendars. I look forward to coming back and sharing our trip with you.

I am grateful for Food Truck Sunday at church, baseball, vacations, and the Lord’s steadfast love for me.

Favorite quote:Divine omniscience affords no comfort to the ungodly mind, but to the child of God it overflows with consolation.” (Charles Spurgeon)

Well, let’s fill this link up with the good stuff. I am so glad you’re here.
