It’s possible you are doing as I am…setting goals and planning changes to aim for a more productive year. Even with all my ideas to revamp things or tackle what I’ve put off, I can truly only be confident in one thing: God will show Himself faithful to me in all things. Here are 5 things we have to look forward to in the year 2014…
The Lord will show us his mercies. They are new every morning. Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. (Isaiah 30:18) His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:22,23)
If we repent of our sins, the Lord will forgive us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
When we seek wisdom, He will give it freely. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (James 1:5)
He will give us rest in times of burden. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28) And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33:14) Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)
All our needs will be met according to his riches. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
These are 5 things God offers ALL the time however let us this new year keep our eyes open for them. He is the same yesterday today and always! (Hebrews 13:8). He never changes. Tomorrow we will look at 5 more things God offers us in the new year.
