Monday’s Musings #179 & Mondays

Mondays | What Joy Is Mine

It’s another Monday but I have never looked at Mondays as a bad thing. Instead, I embrace it as the day that leads off another week to accomplish my goals set. It’s really in the way you look at it I suppose. I choose to JOY-fully view my Mondays. Anyways, I wanted to have fun today so I am doing sort of a daybook approach to the post today. Learn a little more about me.

Today is August 24, 2015

Outside my window I see wee birds eating up a storm at our feeder. Yesterday we put up a hummingbird feeder so now our hummingbirds have a place to munch as well.

Spiritually speaking, I am finishing up a Proverbs study and reading The Gospel Primer (again!) in the morning. Love this book.

Healthwise, I walked two miles using my Walk At Home program DVD. One of those miles I used a band to build upper body strength. Strength training is always a part of my exercise routine. Oh, I can officially do 40 second planks!!

For breakfast, it was decaf coffee and a blueberry scone.

In my garden, our zucchini plant continues to give us lots of squash. Our jalapeno chilies are in abundance as well. A blessing is we have not seen very many uninvited bugs after dealing with them early on. Honestly, they gross me out but I gotta stay on top of it or they will destroy my garden.

I’m looking forward to this upcoming weekend. My Love is taking me to see my favorite football team play. I am so very excited about time away with him and enjoying a good game of football.

I am thankful for our daughter’s new job as well as her courage to audition for a Christmas play.

Creatively, I am working on a scrapbook, a recipe calendar and recipe binders. (I plan to share my calendar and binders when I finish them.)

My reading material this week includes cooking magazines, The Broken Hyacinth and Shining Stars magazine. Look for more on Shining Stars magazine this week or next.

One project I hope to finish this week is the reorganization of our pantry. I have already started on it so it’s my goal to finish it this week.

A favorite quote today: “Friendship is born at that moment when one man says to another: “What! You too? I thought that no one but myself . . .”” ― C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

Well, that’s a little look into my life today and this week. What are your goals and agenda for this week?

    Naomi,

What a nice glimpse into your week. I haven’t scrapped in a couple of years now and would love to get back to it soon. You inspired me. For several years I scrapped a family calendar for each of our children and their families. I want to do another one this year, but must get on it soon if I’m going to.

Thanks for hosting. End of summer blessings!

Lux…If the book you were referring to is The Gospel Primer then YES! check it out. It encourages living the gospel daily. I love it. And I do love watching birds. Our bird feeder sits right outside our kitchen window so we see them all day long. Glad you visited. Have a fabulous week. :-)
