About Naomi & WJIM

Me and my Love

My name is Naomi. I am happily married to a wonderful man. We have been blessed with four precious children with one sitting at the feet of Jesus. I am redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and serve a mighty God. I love to be creative which is why I enjoy photography, scrapbooking, quilting, sewing, crafting and cross stitching. I also love time I find to just read.

We are a home schooling family. The Lord called us to home educate our children over 18 years ago and we have been so blessed by this calling. We also have three crazy adorable dogs and a very needy cat that grace our home.

What Joy Is Mine was started in 2011 by my belief that there is joy in every day life even when it seems like there is none. First and foremost our joy is to be in the Lord! “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. (Habakkuk 3:18) When we rejoice in the Lord, our eyes will always look to Him no matter what life holds. We will see things a bit differently. Having joy in the Lord doesn’t promise no trials or tribulations, doesn’t promise a simpler life, nor does it promise a life full of pleasure. In having joy in the God of our salvation, even in the toughest of times, we find God right there. We find His providence, see His sovereignty and know His love for us through his Son, Jesus Christ.

This blog is on a mission, unto His glory and honor, to help others focus their heart and soul on finding Joy in every day life — following the Word of God — through personal journeys and lessons, in home life including marriage, motherhood, homeschooling, being healthy, and, most importantly, spiritual encouragement through Bible teachings that the Lord is laying on my heart. Hey, even a recipe or craft might find its way into a post.

Proverbs 17:22 says “a joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” A joy-filled heart happens when Jesus is the center of it. It is my prayer that while visiting WJIM, you will see how much you are loved by a mighty God and, if you don’t already, you will know Jesus as your personal Savior. That is the best joy there is — for always! “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.” (Philippians 4:4)

Well, welcome and I’m glad you’re here.

Naomi, I wanted to thank you for sharing your space and hosting the link up. Your blog is very encouraging! Finding the joy in life’s journey can be challenging at times, and it’s places like this that make it easier. Your writing points right back to the Joy Giver! Thank you again, so much! And I’m a fellow home schooling mom!

I just want to thank you for a blog that encourages and builds up the gift of joy that God has promised to us! I am on my own journey of discovering and intentionally growing more joy in homeschooling my five kids in the light of our savior, Jesus Christ. Thanks for your voice!

Hello Naomi, I appreciate the premise behind your blog. I’ve been through a miscarriage, breast cancer, and the heart-rending decision to leave family behind whose lives contradict the word of God. If I kept my eyes on the pain I would become shriveled and stagnant. But thanks be to God He has promised us peace and joy when we keep our eyes on Him. Thank you for bringing to mind what joy is mine.
By the way, I love the picture of you and your husband. You two look so right for each other. Isn’t God wonderful?!
    Your sister in Christ,
    Gleniece
